Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp strip GPS EXIF on upload. Direct file transfers (email attachments, AirDrop, cloud drive links, messaging apps that send "original quality") often preserve it.
Even without GPS, the Make/Model/Software fields can fingerprint a specific device, and timestamps can be cross-referenced against other evidence to build a timeline.
